"Express" and "local" runs are maintained via Routes 1 and 2, with "express" runs identified with the letter "E". The latter runs take a more direct route to the Main Railroad Station, thus saving about 2 minutes.

As of 05.2012 Routes 2,2E and 4 were served by a singel trolleybus.

The circular Route 3 is no longer operated. Night-time service was maintained via Route 1 until early 2012, desaigned as a feeder to overnight trains at the Main Railroad Station.

03.2012 a tender was announced for 8 low floor trolleybuses at 2 million Bulgarian Lev for the entire order, however, no manufacturers expressed interest due to a low offer. 06.2012 financing the tender was overturned in court on suspicion of possible unauthorized privatization of the municipal trolleybus company.
