At the time of this photo Line 20 was the main west - east service. Despite a number of opportunities for a short turn, all trolleybuses ran the complete route on the same short headway, thus, creating a clear loading imbalance: near capacity loads through apartment block developments vs. empty runs in the village-like Tsentara neighborhood in the east.

At the time of this photo there was a notable excess of rolling stock. Most trolleybuses operated during am or during pm hours only, with a complete fleet change over in the afternoon. Pictured trolleybuses complete depot pull out and pull in runs, thus increasing mid-afternoon service in the sleepy village-like neighborhood of Tsentara two-fold. A driver of the DAC-Chavdar trolleybuses pulls up to his house for a quick stopover, while the driver of the ZiU trolleybus is forced to manually remove poles from the overhead in order to pass.
