1-01c. The Vokzal Terminal.
VMZ-5298 117 and 116. Line 3.
There were only two trolleybuses of the VMZ-5298 type delivered to the city as of the date of this photo, both pictured here. Starting with the delivery of 116, a pattern of orders from the Bashkirskiy Trolleybus Factory located in the neighboring city of Ufa was broken, and Miass switched to cheaper trolleybuses built in Vologda.

In order to access the square in-front of the Main Railroad Station, trolleybuses cross the bridge over Zheleznodorozhnaya Ul. (Railroad Street) that follows a natural ravine and thus separates the Station from the rest of the city.

ZiU-682G 033. Line 3.
Trolleybus departs from the Main Railroad Station Stop. A gypsy minibus operating under the same route designation number, Line 3, cuts in front. It will follow the trolleybus route in its entirety. The cosmetic maintenance of many older trolleybuses is rather shocking, as some vehicles look like horribly corroded patched-up dinosaurs.

ZiU-682V, ZiU-682G and ZiU-683V trolleybuses (the yellow vehicle is 057). Lines 3 and 4.
Bustling trolleybus service during the early 1990s. As many as 5 trolleybuses are captured in one shot within the short stretch of the line leading to the Main Railroad Station. Note the articulated trolleybus boasting factory livery. Articulated vehicles operate during weekdays only. The planned trolleybus line to Stariy Miass was to branch off the main line at this particular intersection, and was to continue via 8-go Marta Ul., to the viewer's left.

1-04. A panoramic view of Stariy Miass.
The Stariy Miass (the Old Miass) neighborhood was formed during the Czarist pre-Soviet era. It is located to the south of the Main Railroad Station, a few km away from the 'new' city. There were plans in the late 1980s / early 1990s' to built a trolleybus line to Stariy Miass, as well as the second Depot in the south of the city. These were never realized.

ZIS-155 bus.
Buses operate in the city since 1953. In the early 1990s the bus network boasted as many as 15 lines served with 180 vehicles. During the 1990s and the early 2000s, however, the municipal bus fleet was significantly reduced, and full-size municipal buses became a rather rare sight, as private carriers took over.

An exemplary shot capturing one trolleybus and 5 gypsy minibuses serving the same corridor - all waiting for the same light to change. Note that the number of passengers carried by one trolleybus and all 5 minibuses combined is about the same. The overhead turning off to the viewer's left, onto Predzavodskaya Ul., leads to the Avtozavod loop around the square in-front of the UralAZ factory's main entrance, and is used as a short turn by special Line 6 that operates during emergencies only, such as overhead breakdowns.

A rare occasion of a trolleybus being assigned to the rush hour-only Line 1 during the weekend in a course of a short-turn run. The original route display featuring a permanently painted number 3 is substituted with a makeshift paper sign with a number 1 scribbled on it, placed in the windshield. Trolleybus loops around the square following the clockwise pattern, and is about to pull into the Mashgorodok-bound stop in-front of the UralAZ. Note a picture of a wolf in the front of the vehicle.
