2-01. Respubliki Ul. / Melnikayte Ul.
ZiU-682G 077. Line 9, 2-ya Gorbolnitsa-bound (temporary reroute).
Trolleybus leaves the city's main west-east line via Respubliki Ul. and turns toward 2-ya Gorbolnitsa . At he time of this photo, Line 6 operated to 2-ya Gorbolnitsa, while lines 9, 12 and 14 continued on east via Respubliki Ul., toward the main bus station, the eastern industrial park and apartment block developments. Due to a road accident under the overhead further down on Respubliki Ul. (see photos below), on this particular day normal trolleybus operations were disrupted, with services diverted away from the area of the accident. As a result, trolleybuses serving Line 9 were redirected to 2-ya Gorbolnitsa.

2-02. Melnikayte Ul. / Kotovskogo Ul.
ZiU-682G 042. Line 9, 2-ya Gorbolnitsa-bound (temporary reroute).
The area to the east of the city center happens to be a vast development of standard Soviet-style apartment blocks dating from the 1960-80s, built into a standard rectangular street grid. The unimpressive 2-ya Gorbolnitsa line branches off the main Respubliki Ul. line at a ninety degree angle and follows a dreary straight boulevard-like Melnikayte Ul. for two stops only.

2-03. Melnikayte Ul. / 50 Let Oktyabrya Ul.
ZiU-682G 045. Line 6, Rynok 'Privoz'-bound (depot pull-in).
Trolleybus is about to go around a nameless square just short of the end of the 2-ya Gorbolnitsa line. Despite the fact that there is a traffic circle in the square, where a turnaround would be easily possible, the trolleybus line continues on for another 200-300 meters down Melinkayte Ul., ending with a separate tight loop. Even though the sign in the windshield of the trolleybus in this photo reads 'To Rynok 'Privoz'', this is a depot-bound run. The Rynok 'Privoz' (Market 'Privoz') is located near the Trolleybus Depot, one stop short of the Zavod Medoborudovania Terminal. It is the official last stop for all depot pull-ins in the city.

2-04a. Melnikayte Ul. / Kharkovskaya Ul.
ZiU-682G 042. Line 9, 2-ya Gorbolnitsa-bound (temporary reroute).
The 2-ya Gorbolnitsa Loop happens to be a tight 180 degree turnaround right in the middle of the Melnikayte Ul. boulevard, barely possible for trolleybuses to fit in.

ZiU-682G 084. Line 6.
The official loading point at the 2-ya Gorbolnitsa Terminal. During a heyday of the trolleybus operation, this terminal used to be served with Lines 4, 5, 6 and 15. At the time of this photo, only Line 6 remains. The terminal was also once known as the Sibelektromontazh Terminal.

2-06. Respubliki Ul. / Tulskaya Ul.
ZiU-682G 011. Line 12, Rabochiy Posyolok-bound.
Proceeding further down the city's main Respubliki Ul. line that continues toward the main bus terminal, the eastern industrial park and apartment block developments. During 'the better days', this line has seen an impressive assembly of services 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14 and 15 operating together. At the time of this photo, only Lines 9, 12 and 14 remain. The section of the line between the city center and the main bus station follows the same unimpressive developments of dull Soviet-style apartment blocks.

2-07a. Respubliki Ul. / Parfenova Ul.
Ikarus 280 bus.
The road collision under the overhead involving a municipal bus leaves no chance for trolleybuses to go around the scene of the accident.

2-07b. Respubliki Ul. / Parfenova Ul.
Ikarus 280 bus.
Due to sluggish response time on the part of the traffic police (which seems to be a custom in Russia), a smashed rear view mirror resulted in huge traffic backups and a 3-hour long trolleybus service disruption throughout the network.

A trolleybus parade continues. The Trolleybus Depot is located right near a bi-leveled road interchange between Respubliki Ul. and Permyakova Ul., visible in the background of this photo. The same interchange is also a site for a split between the main trolleybus line and the 3-y Mikrorayon branch.

2-08a. Respubliki Ul. / The Zavod Medoborudovania Loop.
ZiU-682G 027. Line 14 (temporary reroute).
Trolleybus enters the Zavod Medoborudovania Loop near the main bus station. The loop is located at the borderline between the residential area and the industrial park. At the time of this photo, this was the official terminal for Line 9. A trolleybus belonging to Line 14 in this photo was redirected here due to the traffic accident described above. Note the design of the overhead forcing all city-bound runs to go through the loop.

2-09. The Zavod Medoborudovania Terminal.
ZiU-682G 028. Line 14 (temporary reroute).
The city-bound stop within the loop. Another trolleybus gets stuck within the eastern part of the network due to the same traffic accident. Even though this trolleybus was on a depot pullout run destined for Line 6, it is redirected to shuttle within the unaffected eastern confines of the network, between Rabochiy Posyolok and 3-y Mikrorayon, under the Line 14 route designation. The first trolleybus line in the city, opened 12 June 1970, originated at this very terminal and continued into the eastern industrial park. During a heyday of the trolleybus operation, this loop served as a turnaround for Lines 2, 3, 7, 9, 12, and a passing point for Lines 1, 5, 8, 10, 13. At the time of this photo, this was a terminal for Line 9, and a transit stop for Line 12 only.

ZiU-682G 011. Line 12, Rabochiy Posyolok-bound.
Outbound trolleybus bypasses the loop and continues on into the eastern industrial park. This section of Respubliki Ul. was previously called Vorovskogo Ul.

2-10. Yalutorovskiy Trakt / Krasnaya Ul; The Rabochiy Posyolok Loop.
ZiU-682G 028. Line 6 (temporary reroute).
Trolleybus during a layover. This terminal used to be served by Lines 1, 3, 5, 8, 10 and 13. At the time of this photo this was the endpoint for Line 12 only. The same terminal was once also known as BKU. The ghetto-like Rabochiy Posyolok settlement that has somehow gotten stuck in the middle of the vast industrial park is visible in the background.

2-11. The Rabochiy Posyolok Terminal.
ZiU-682G 028. Line 6 (temporary reroute).
Trolleybus is about to leave the loop and head back to the city. Even though Line 12 terminates here, the trolleybus line itself continues on for another 5 km, toward the suburban Motorniy Zavod Plant. This was the very first trolleybus line in the city. The line is somewhat unique as it traverses the rural fields via the intercity Yalutorovskiy and Stariy Tobolskiy highways. The line has not seen service since the mid 1990s.
