2-01. Zheleznoy Divisii Ul. between Lenina Ul. / Damba
Tatra T-3 work-car VV-5. Damba-bound.
The beauty of Ulyanovsk small-town architecture could mostly be appreciated when leafs are off.

2-02a. The Damba Terminal.
KTM-5M3 1202+1203. Line 11.
This is the busiest terminal in Ulyanovsk, located at the fringes of downtown, within walking distance from most city center passenger generators. At the time of this photograph, this was an endpoint for Lines 8, 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, and a designated mid-route dispatch point for Line 1.

2-02b. The Damba Terminal.
KTM-5M3 1200; Tatra T-3 1218 in the background, both serving Line 11.
Compare this photo, to the photo above. Line 11 used to be the only service in the city worked exclusively by KTM cars of different modifications. By 2006 all 2-car trains serving Line 11 were uncoupled into single units.

Tatra T-3 1233. Line 1, Vokzal Ulyanovsk-I-bound.

2-02d. The Damba Terminal.
Tatra T-3M 2198. Line 10.
After an uncoupling campaign of 2003, busy counter-circular Lines 9, 10 are now served with single cars only. The headway was subsequently somewhat reduced.

2-02e. Approaching the Damba Terminal from Marata Ul.
KTM-8 1212. Line 11.
As per an unwritten rule, all types of KTM trams serve Line 11 only.

2-03. Marata Ul. near Karla Marxa Ul., at the Tsentralniy Rynok (Central Market).
Tatra T-3 1189. Line 17.
Line 17 is a circular line looping between Damba and 19-y Mikrorayon. It does officially have the 17-right (counterclockwise) and the 17-left (clockwise) patterns, but no appropriate signage was ever observed in actual service. The line operates on rather long headways. It was a rush hour-only service in 2002, but the service was extended into midday by 2006. This was done, as due to economic changes the distinction between rush hour and non-rush hour services in the city has gradually faded away.

2-04. Marata Ul. between Mozhayskogo Ul. / Karla Marxa Ul.
KTM-5M3 1208. Line 11, Park Yunosti-bound.
The track might seem to be in a poor condition, but it is the road itself that didn't get proper attention, whereas the tramway tracks are even enough to accommodate relatively high speeds. Generally speaking, most tracks in the city are in a fair condition.

Tatra T-3 1218. Line 11, Park Yunosti-bound.

KTM-8M 1215. Line 11, Park Yunosti-bound.
One of only two cars of KTM-8M type the system possesses. In 2002 this car was photographed as a part of the train 1214+1215, see below.

2-07. Mozhayskogo Ul. / Gagarina Ul.
KTM-8 1210. Line 11, Damba-bound.

2-08. Timiryazeva Ul. / Narimanova Pr., this intersection is also known as Teletsentr.
Tatra T-3 1231. Line 11, Damba-bound.
Line 11 used to be the only service in the city worked exclusively by KTM cars. By 2006, however, the fleet of workable KTM cars thinned to the point that Tatra trams started making unusual appearances on the line.

2-10. The Park Yunosti Terminal.
KTM-8M 1214+1215. Line 11.
In 2002 the only two KTM-8M cars the system possesses were coupled into a train.
(07 Jun 2002, YM)
2-11. Narimanova Pr. / Dekabristov Ul.
Tatra T-3 2-car train of undistinguishable number. Line 4, Gaya Pr.-bound.
A 2-car train serving Line 4 speeds toward the city on its way from the Park Pobedy Terminal, which is located at the very end of the avenue in this photo. In 2002 all trams serving Line 4 were 2-car trains. By 2006 they were uncoupled into single units, and the headway was subsequently reduced two-fold. According to "Ulyanovskelektrotrans", this was followed by a significant increase in ridership.
