The 'new' bridge over the Sviyaga River. The first trolleybus line of the proposed trolleybus network on the right bank of the Volga River (separated from today's left bank trolleybus installation) was supposed to go over this bridge, connecting the city center with the UAZ automobile production plant. The plan was conceived in the 1980s, but it never materialized.

6-03a. 19-y Mikrorayon loop.
Tatra T-3M 2216+2217. Line 6.
This loop is curiously entrenched below the bridge over the Sviyaga River. Trams literally dive toward the river in order to reach the loop. This is the endpoint for the Line 6 and the newly established (by 2006) Line 7. A circular Line 17 is conventionally pictured on most maps as one terminating at 19-y Mikrorayon. In reality it does not use the loop, but passes over the bridge above.

LM-93 1220. Line 17, looping counterclockwise.
A rare sighting of one of two St. Petersburg-built cars in actual service. These cars are considered unreliable and seldom used. On those few occasions when they are available for service, they operate exclusively via Line 17.

Tatra T-3 1168+1169. Line 2, UKSM-bound.
The main city tramway service, Line 2, has seen a brief period of decline after 2003, marked by the use of single cars as opposed to 2-car sets on same long headways. By 2006, however, it was 'back', and was served with 2-car trains again, the headway was noticeably low. Line 2 became the last line in the city served exclusively with 2-car trains (the other one is Line 6, partially served by trains, and Line 107, served by trains on summer weekends only).

Tatra T-3 1227+1225. Line 2, UKSM-bound.
A brief 5-minute repair work shown above was enough to generate a back up of 2 trains assigned to Line 2. Operators, unaware of the nature of repairs, allowed passengers off, yet service will be restored within minutes.
