Arnoldstrasse / Bahnhofstrasse
Siemens Combino MGT4
The junction at the beginning of the Altentor (Parkallee) Line was rebuilt in the early 2000s, upon which it no longer features two sets of double-track curves, but rather the double-track curve for the regular service Parkallee - Stadtzentrum move, and the single-track curve for the non-revenue service Parkallee - Bahnhofplatz move.

Grimmelallee / Heinrich-Zille-Str.
Siemens Combino MGT4
The Altentor Line is a leftover from the earlier circular line that opened in 1900 and went from Bahnhof to Kornmarkt via Altentor. The Kornmarkt - Altentor section was abandoned in 1922, thus only the southern half of the loop remains. The line was extended to Parkallee in 1983. The attractive single-track line follows Grimmelallee on the reserved siding.

GT4 ex-Esslingen, ex-Stuttgart
The ex-Esslingen (and some ex-Freiburg) GT4 trams of Stuttgart type replaced DDR-era two-axle Gotha trams in 1991. They were, in turn, mostly replaced with low-floor Combino trams in the mid-2000s. By the end of 2000s Stuttgart cars were still stored on the property.

Reichstrasse / Bahnhofsplatz
Siemens Combino MGT4 Diesel-Electric
Diesel-electric Duo-Combino tram serving Line 10 arrives at the Bahnhofsplatz Stop. The tram has just completed the city segment of the line in electric mode. The track on the left connects the city tram network to the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) railroad network which trams serving Line 10 utilize to get to suburban Ilfeld. The overhead over that track is seeing ending abruptly.

Both Ilfeld-bound and Nordhausen-bound duo-trams serving Line 10 arrive on the right side of the platform. Ilfeld-bound trams pull into the terminal moving away from the camera via the middle track, change ends, switch from electric to diesel mode, and pull out toward the camera via the rightmost track. Tram 202 on the right is seeing with pantograph already down, ready for diesel mode operation.

Steam Train
At the time of this photo one run daily via the tram Line 10 was operated by the steam engine (one outbound trip in the morning, and one inbound trip in the evening). Trains hauled by steamers operate via the entire HSB line between Nordhausen and Brocken, which covers the Nordhausen - Ilfeld segment, otherwise operated by diesel-electric duo-trams.

Ilfeld Neanderklinik Terminal
Siemens Combino MGT4 Diesel-Electric
The simple terminal for the duo-tram suburban Line 10 near the Ilfeld's small Hospital is located one stop passed the Ilfeld Main Railroad Station. There is no siding, trams change ends on the single mainline track. Beyond this point the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen (HSB) line begins a climb into Harz mountains where settlements are scarce and there is no justifiable ridership for the tram.

GT4 ex-Esslingen, ex-Stuttgart; Gotha/LEW T57
