The Gorodskaya Bolnitsa branch was the 2nd segment of the trolleybus network, opened in 05.1968. The line culminated with a lengthy one-way loop in the Lechgorodok neighborhood. The two trolleybuses are pictured at the Theater Square, at the split at the beginning of the loop. The trolleybus on the left operates via the former Line 5.

The section of the trolleybus line via Karla Libknehta Ul. between Pravdy Ul. and Shevchenko Ul. was opened in 1987. The line was meant to take some load off the central line via 25 Oktyabrya Ul., for which purpose the new Line 9 was introduced. At the time of this photo the Line 9 was suspended, while the given segment was used for a lengthy one-way turnaround for the interurban Line 19 (pictured). The service in the opposite direction was limited to the Line 6 that operated on a 64 min. headway.

At the time of this photo the Line 9 that used to be the principal service via the Karla Libknehta Ul. line, was suspended, while the service was limited to the remaining Line 3 and the counter-looping Lines 4 and 7. Due to the infrequent service, a photograph featuring two trolleybuses in one shot is somewhat uncommon.
