A photograph of a trolleybus serving the Line 9 is a rarity. The Line 9 was introduced in 1987 upon the completion of the last segment of the line via Karla Libknehta Ul. that was meant to relieve some load from the central line via 25 Oktyabrya Ul. During the 2000s, however, the Line 9 was suspended and reinstated a number of times, and thus became known as “the ghost line”.

The Sovhoz Tehnikum im. Frunze Loop

The western terminal of the city’s first trolleybus line, opened on 01.11.1967. The line to the Depot continued farther, but did not carry revenue service, until the two revenue extensions opened on the same day on 19.06.1993: the line to Mikrorayon “Zapadniy” served by extended Lines 1, 5, 6 and 9; and the interurban line to the neighboring city of Bendery, served by the newly introduced Line 19. The Line 2 continued to operate to the Sovkhoz-tekhnikum im. Frunze Terminal until the late 1990s, when it was extended to Mikrorayon “Zapadniy”. At the time of this photo the given loop was not used in revenue service, but a dispatch outpost still remained here.

The terminal of the 4th segment of the Tiraspol trolleybus network, opened in 11.1972. The line was extended farther as a lengthy loop through the Kirovskiy Posyolok neighborhood in 06.1977. At the time of this photo this terminal was utilized by the Line 6 operating on a 64 min. headway, thus, a trolleybus within the loop itself was somewhat hard to catch. The Lines 4 and 7 continued farter down the line, operating via a loop through Kirovskiy Posyolok.
