1-01. The Kinoteatr "Sibir" Terminal.

The main city tramway terminal is a simple loop with a single track. There used to be a second track, the remains are visible to the right.

1-02. The Kinoteatr "Sibir" Terminal.
KTM-5M3 77 assigned to Line 2 leaves the terminal en-route to ZFA.
The small and decrepit old town of Achinsk, a cluster of shabby wooden houses, begins north of the tramway terminal, in the background on this photo. Trams only serve the newer Achinsk, which consists of very soviet apartment blocks that generate adequate ridership. There were plans to extend the line into the old town, to the railroad station, but this never materialized. The line ends abruptly at the fringes of the old town.

1-03. Sverdlova Ul., approaching the Kinoteatr "Sibir" Terminal.
KTM-5M3 40 assigned to Line 1.
All Achinsk trams, with exception of 52 and 62, carry some sort of advertisement. The curve in the background leads to Pionerskaya Ul.

1-04. Pionerskaya Ul. between Sverdlova Ul. & Kravchenko Ul.
KTM-5M3 62. Line 1, AGK-bound.
This car does not carry advertisement, but it is not less colorful than others. The text on the sides of this car proudly proclaims "Achinsk 1683-2004". Not exactly an anniversary, but this hints how old the town actually is, a respectful age, considering the remoteness of the area. This reminder is especially essential as 95% of the city looks as if it was built after 1960/1970s, as a part of the planned industrialization of the region, and with the construction of the gigantic industrial park dominated by the combine.

1-09. Kravchenko Ul. & Gagarina Ul.
KTM-5M3 67. Line 1, Kinoteatr "Sibir"-bound.
Upon a slight bend of Kravchenko Ul., the tram line switches from side-of-the-road to down-the-median alignment. The previously planned line to Yuzhnaya Promzona (the Southern Industrial Park) was supposed to branch off from here to the left, and extend southeast via Gagarina Ul.
