Despite significant service cut backs, at the time of this photo the city's main trolleybus Route 1 was still operated on comparatively low headways. A short layover time allowed at the outer terminal in the industrial park is apparently enough for the Ukrainian built YMZ-T2 trolleybus to catch up with its leader.

An additional extension to the Depot and a one-way loop to Grobolnitsa (straight ahead in this photo) were added in 1986. Trolleybuses serving the circular Route 4 used to operate directly to Gorbolnitsa (see the remains of the former overhead turn off) but must now detour via the Depot, as the pictured trolleybus just did.

The former line via Vokzalnaya Ul. and Nakhimova Ul.

Vokzalnaya Ul.

The one-way trolleybus line via Vokzalnaya Ul. used to serve a number of administrative buildings in the city’s “old town”, clustered along a railroad line. The line was poorly routed and thus was impractical and uneconomical. At the time of this photo only a few elements of the overhead remained.

The unfinished line to Shakhta "Kommunist"

The town of Gornoe

The construction of the 5,8 km. (two-way) line to Shakhta "Kommunist" (the "Kommunist" mine) was started in the early 1990s, but was never finished. The shown segment traverses the mining town of Gornoe, a settlement near the mine. Overhead support poles are clearly visible.
