ZiU-682V 087. Line 14, Vokzal-bound. A worn out trolleybus serving Line 14 approaches the Main Railroad Station. Pervomayskaya Ulitsa connects the Station to the city center and thus offers the first views of the city visitors are greeted with. Despite it's less than grand appearance, it happens to be one of city's major thoroughfares. The city center itself begins just a few blocks away, in the background in this photo, beyond the ravine and the half-drained Tyumenka Creek. (30 Jan 2007, YM) |

ZiU-682G 45. Line 6. The next trolleybus to arrive at the Station belongs to Line 6. As of the date of this photo, the Vokzal line was served with Lines 6 and 14. Both services are operated on a somewhat shared schedule. During midday on weekdays when this photo was shot, each service operated on the approximately 20 min headway, thus about 10 min combined. ZiU-682V 85 in the front. Line 6, 2-ya Gorbolnitsa-bound. ZiU-682G 44 in the back. Line 14, 3-y Mikrorayon-bound. Two half-empty trolleybuses are pictured en-route from the Main Railroad Station at the height of the evening rush hour. At the time of this photo, during rush hours the headway on each Line 6 and 14 was approximately 12 min, or about 6 min combined. These trolleybuses, however, operate in tandem as the schedule is hard to keep up with due to heavy traffic in the city center. (30 Jan 2007, YM) |

ZiU-682G 5. Line 6, Vokzal-bound. Trolleybus crosses Tyumen's central-most intersection. This is the point where the Vokzal extension merges eastward into the city's main west-east trolleybus corridor. The remaining section between Lenina Ul. and Respubliki Ul. is one-way, allowing for Vokzal-bound moves only. The initial version of the line, opened in the late 1973, was two-way, and allowed for a westward access to the main west-east corridor via Respubliki Ul., used by the former Line 11. The westbound connection was since closed and the second set of wires on Pervomayskaya Ul., as well as all corresponding wirework were removed. (30 Jan 2007, YM) |

ZiU-682G 16 in the front. Line 14, Vokzal-bound. ZiU-682G 2 in the back. Line 6, Vokzal-bound. Trolleybus makes an attempt to take the switch in the slow moving traffic. The switch in question allows for a short turn move via Pervomayskaya Ul. without having to go all the way to the Main Railroad Station. Bunching among trolleybuses serving the same corridor seems to be a perpetual problem due to heavy traffic conditions in the city center. (30 Jan 2007, YM) |

As of the date of this photo, while trolleybuses serving Lines 6 and 14 turned off here toward the Main Railroad Station, trolleybuses serving Line 12 continued on toward Dom Oborony. ZiU-682G 36. Line 6, 2-ya Gorbolnitsa-bound. Trolleybus turns from the Vokzal extension onto the city's main west-east trolleybus line. The set of wires in the middle is utilized by trolleybuses returning from Muzey, Dom Oborony and EMZ. The set of wires on viewer's right allows for a short-turn move via Pervomayskaya Ul. without having to go to Vokzal. The latter move is not used in regular revenue service. (30 Jan 2007, YM) |

Upon reaching the eastern limits of the city center, the one-way section of the line ends, and a trolleybuses together with a cohort of commercial diesel buses in hot pursuit, are about to return to city's main artery, Republiki Ul. via the boulevard-like Morisa Toreza Ul.
