The first deliveries of 2-axle cars were reinforced by consecutive arrival of these modern bogie cars, a surprising privilege for the town of this size.

MTV-82 car 5.
The Volchansk network is simple enough not to require route numbering, thus the route display is usually used for car fleet numbers. At the time when this photo was taken, this car had a few choices: it could either head from here to the north, to Lesnaya Volchanka, or via the second line to the south to Razrez 5, or further down to the south via the Volchansk - Karpinsk interurban line that existed between 06.1953 and 22.04.1965.

Spektr 71-402.
The fleet numberless and route numberless service car, awaits the scheduled departure time for a trip via the only surviving line to Lesnaya Volchanka. It is assumed that the actual fleet number of this car is 10. At the time of this photo, trams were scheduled to leave the Volchanka Terminal hourly between 7:05 and 23:05. There was only one tram in use in service on any given day.

1-04. The Volchanka Loop.
The southern tip of the loop around the Depot. While track leading to the righ truns back toward the Depot, the former interurban line to Karpinsk used to branch off to the left and continued on south via the Volchansk - Karpinsk intercity road. Upon the lines' closure on 22.04.1965, the short section of it was still used as a part of the Razrez 5 line. The latter subsequently closed 10.1994. Ten years later, while all track are gone, the wirework is still visible.

Upon completing the loop, the tram embarks onto Lesnaya Volchanka-bound journey. The first 1.7 km of the line and the first four stops are located within the southern part of Volchansk township, the village of Volchanka, grandly built during the heyday of socialist planned industrial development as an accessory to the huge coal mining open cut facility.

A lonely passenger is let off more or less within the vicinity of the officially designated tram stop. Discretionary stops on individual demand are common, as in this small town everyone knows everybody, including the tram operator.

Some heavy duty snow removal work, with the tram inching-by behind it. This car is apparently used to deliver workers and supplies to the battle site. The tram service does get snowed out for short periods in winter months. The enterprise prides itself for not ever having to miss service for more than a week in a row.

Even though there is a popular complaint that the town is experiencing a decline since the collapse of the planned economy, the pace of life did not seem to be more energetic in the heyday of the Soviet Union. Car 8 will burn down at the depot around 2003.

To echo the fate of car 8 shown above, car 60 chose to burn down at the depot 3 years later, in 2006. This photo is displayed here despite concerns over its quality, since this is the only known image of this car.

Tram enterprise's tractor, used for snow-ploughing duties, is giving way as the tram continues via the town's main thoroughfare. Ever since the only snowplough went handicapped, a regular tractor is used for snow removal via the entire line. No comments on damage done to tracks.

The tram is leaving the last stop in Volchanka. Many local passengers use the tram to travel from the main square visible in the background, to this point only. Also in the background, the TU's tractor gets back to snow-ploughing duties. The Volchanka town park is on the right.
