2-01. Lenina Ul. near the tramway junction.
RVZ-6M2 car 32. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
At the beginning of the Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Line. The first tramline in Osinniki was opened from Vokzal to Shakhta "Kapitalnaya-2" (nowadays Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya") and went to the industrial outskirts of the town, rather than the city center. It was a single-track line. The outer section from RSU (now known as RMZ) to "Kapitalnaya" received a second track in 1977. The segment from the dispatch to RSU, including the section in this photo, became double-tracked only in 1978. Car 37 is still in the RVZ-classic Soviet standard red and yellow livery.

2-02. Lenina Ul. between the Budyonogo Ul. and DK 'Oktyabr' Stops.
RVZ-6M2 car 32. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
The same car as above pictured on the same line 12 years later, this time wrapped in advertising. As per the date of this photo, 32 happens to be the oldest car of this type, delivered in 1984. Only 8 RVZ-6M2 cars remained in service by 2004. Local undertaking prefers not to maintain older trams through overhauls, but rather bets on new deliveries. Thus, older trams tend to disappear earlier than usual.

2-03. Lenina Ul. near the Budyonogo Ul. Stop.
LM-99 car 67. Line 2, Yuzhnaya-bound.

It was given to commemorate the Day of the Miners. There were 2 cars of this type on the property in 2004. The firehouse is in the background.

2-06. Lenina Ul. between the Travmpunkt and RMZ Stops.
LM-93 car 60. RMZ-bound.
On the day of this photo being taken car 60 was transferred from Line 3 to the Line 2 to patch up service. Car 60 is pictured during the transfer operating via the previously existed Line 1 from Vokzal toward Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya", except that this time it will only follow a shorter version of the route to RMZ.

2-07. Lenina Ul., the RMZ Loop.
LM-93 Car 64. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.

2-09. Lenina Ul. near the Podstantsiya Stop.
RVZ-6M2 car 40. Line 2, Yuzhnaya-bound.
Beyond the Podstantsiya Stop, Lenina Street ends with the railroad crossing, at which point the tramline detours sideways and heads toward the tram-only viaduct over the railroad tracks.

2-10. The Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Line between the Podstantsiya and 9-ya Shtolnaya Stops.
RVZ-6M2 car 32. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.

2-11. The viaduct between the Podstantsiya and 9-ya Shtolnaya Stops.
LM-99 car 67. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
The tram-only viaduct over the railroad line is built as a single-track bridge. There are no switches as tracks converge into 4 paralleled rails.

2-12. The bridge over the Bolshoy Kandalep River between the Podstantsiya and 9-ya Shtolnaya Stops.
LM-93 car 62. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
The bridge over the river is practically attached to the railroad viaduct. The newest as per the date of this photo tram 62 descends from the viaduct. The sign on the side reads: '35 years of Osinniki tramway'. This car was delivered in 1995, prior to the 35th anniversary of the local tramway.

LM-93 car 59 on the left. Line 2, Yuzhnaya-bound.
LM-93 car 61 on the right. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
Beyond the tram-only viaduct the line curves back toward the highway. Lenina Ulitsa now becomes 9-ya Shtolnaya Ulitsa. In 2002 car 59 was noted stored at the depot after it was burned, see photo 59 . In 2004 this car was not observed in service.

2-13b. The 9-ya Shtolnaya Stop.
RVZ-6M2 car 34. Line 2, Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya"-bound.
The same stop as above 8 years later. Despite the sign 'Yuzhnaya' in the windshield, this car is headed from Yuzhnaya toward Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya". According to a peculiar local custom, all trams serving Line 2 carry the sign 'Yuzhnaya', when all trams serving Line 3 carry the sign 'Vokzal'. Destination signs do not change according to the direction of the travel. Curiously, this practice is maintained even though both lines operate to Yuzhnaya.

2-14. 9-ya Shtolnaya Ul. / Ostrovskogo Ul.
RVZ-6M2 car 32. Line 2, Yuzhnaya-bound.

Tram 55 was the first of the series of LM-93 trams, delivered to Osinniki after the dismissal of the KTM trams. The sign on the side reads: 'St. Petersburg - to the city of Osinniki'. This text was applied to cars 55 through 58 delivered in 1994.
(02.06.1996, Aare Olander)
2-16a. The Shakhta "Kuzbasskaya" Terminal (nowadays Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya").
RVZ-6M car 7.
Car 7 was delivered in 1972. According to the destination sign, at the time when this picture was taken the "Osinnikovskaya" mine was called the "Kuzbasskaya" mine.

2-16b. The Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Terminal.
RVZ-6M2 cars 31 and 41 (left to right).
These trams were delivered in 1979 and 1987 respectively. As per 2004 car 31 was scrapped, but car 41 could still be seen on photo 41 .
(02.06.1996, Aare Olander)
2-16c. The Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Terminal.
LM-99 car 67.
The same spot as above 8 years later. The newest as per the date of this photo car 67 has just arrived at the terminal. Back when this tramline was opened in 1960 the mine near the terminal was called "Kapitalnaya-2". It was later renamed into "Kuzbasskaya" and yet again renamed into "Osinnikovskaya". The name of the tramway terminal was changing accordingly. As per 2004 the mine was operated at a half of its capacity.
(09.09.2004, YM)
2-16d. The Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Terminal.
LM-99 car 67.
St. Petersbrug-built tram 67 awaits the scheduled departure. A rear route display permanently reads '3', suggesting that this car previously served the Vokzal - Yuzhnaya route. This route number also reminds of the St. Petersburg special Line 3, served exclusively by trams of this model painted in similar colors.

2-16e. Leaving the Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" Terminal.
RVZ-6M2 car 32. Yuzhnaya-bound.
Exactly ten minutes later the oldest as per the date of this photo tram 32 departs the Shakhta "Osinnikovskaya" loop and heads for the city center. A dead end track is seen between service tracks, which is now used to layover trams. Trams back up into the dead end segment. Previously this was the terminal's second track, as seen in this 1996 photo 31+41 . (09.09.2004, YM)
