17-03a. Obvodniy Canal Pr. / Voskresenskaya Ul.
VMZ-170 95 Line 5, Ust-Dvinskaya-bound.
Vologda-built trolleybus enters the same traffic circle. The neighboring Vologda is almost a thousand kilometers away to the south. Yet, this is the first major Russian city next to Arkhangelsk, and it does have its own trolleybus builder. Thus, it became a natural supplier of trolleybuses to Arkhangelsk. The structure in the background exemplifies the old gradually giving way to the new, as the major Voskresenskaya Ulitsa thoroughfare cuts through the old wooden city.

17-03b. Obvodniy Canal Pr. / Voskresenskaya Ul.
Jelcz / Nordtroll TEA-120M 107 Line 5, Galushina-bound.
One of 6 vehicles (102-107) built by the Nordtroll consortium under the license from the Polish builder Jelcz, crosses the major Voskresenskaya Ul. via a traffic circle. The city's premier attraction, the high-rise building at Lenina Square, is in the background.

14-09. Moskovskiy Pr./ Poliny Osipenko Ul.
ZIU-682G 101 Line 5, Galushina-bound.
The last ZIU trolleybus ever delivered to Arkhangelsk (1993) is pictured working the newest extension of the network, served by Lines 5 and 6. This trolleybus line was built in anticipation of modern apartment blocks to be built in the area, which plan didn't fully materialized with the collapse of the Soviet Union.

14-10a. The Prokopiya Galushina Ul. Terminal.
Jelcz / Nordtroll TEA-120M 107 Line 6, Galushina-bound.
This trolleybus has just arrived at the terminal and is about to turn around via the loop. The pick up location is visible in the background to the right. Note the double windshield used on 106 and 107, different from other Jelcz trolleybuses, which have solid windshields.

14-10b. The Prokopiya Galushina Ul. Terminal.
ZIU-682V 80 Line 5, Ust-Dvinskaya-bound.
Awaiting its scheduled departure at the terminal. This is another fine example of Arkhangelsk superb cosmetic maintenance of its trolleybuses.
