2-01. Karla Marksa Pr. & Chaykovskogo Ul.
KTM-8 T-130. Line 3, 17-y Mikrorayon-bound.
One of 16 cars of KTM-8 type crosses city's premier tramway attraction - a full grand union with 16 switches. 9 out of 12 possible moves were used in service in 2004. This is one of only 2 grand unions left in Russia, the other one in Kaliningrad.

2-01. Karla Marksa Pr. & Chaykovskogo Ul.
LM-93 T-011. Line 5, Z-d Polimerov-bound.
One of 12 cars of this type ever delivered to Angarsk. This photo was taken while they were still in service. By 2004 all LM-93 cars were parked at the depot, potentially available for sale. The main reason is incompatibility of these cars with the rest of the fleet.

2-01. Karla Marksa Pr. & Chaykovskogo Ul.
RVZ-6M2 T-055. Line 6, Sangorodok-bound.
One of only 8 Riga-built RVZ-6M2 cars remaining in the city by 2004. The tram completes a turn through the grand union onto Karla Marksa Pr., toward the city center. In 2004 these trams are mostly used during the rush hour, and were expected to be scrapped soon.

2-06. Karla Marksa Pr. & Gorkogo Ul.
KTM-5M3 T-176+T-1XX. Line 3, 17-y Mikrorayon-bound.
This photo was taken when 2-car trains were still a common sight. The tramway line curves onto Gorkogo Ul. in the background. Upon the initial opening of this line in 1959, trams used to continue straight ahead via Karla Marksa Pr. and through the main square. The modern version via Kirova Ul., Moskovskaya Ul. & Gorkogo Ul. was built later, presumably in the 1960s.

2-07. Gorkogo Ul. & Karla Marksa Pr.
RVZ-6M2 T-037+T-043. Line 6, Sangorodok-bound.
Another 2-car train at the same intersection. Note the state of disarray the city had fallen into in the mid-1990s. The 2nd car could also be seen as a single car in operation on this page below.

2-08. Gorkogo Ul. between Karla Marksa Pr. and Sovetskaya Ul.
LM-93 T-008. Line 3, Mayskiy-bound.

2-09. Gorkogo Ul. & Sovetskaya Ul.
KTM-5M3 T-123. Line 6, Sangorodok-bound.
Images of the city of Angarsk in disarray with grand Stalin-era buildings with greasy remnants of paint peeling away became a symbol of the city in the 1990s. In 2004, however, the central area was found well cleaned up, with most buildings freshly painted.

2-10. Gorkogo Ul. & Sovetskaya Ul.
RVZ-6M2 T-055. Line 6, 205-y Kvartal-bound.

2-11. Moskovskaya Ul. & Gorkogo Ul.
KTM-8KM T-112. Line 6, Sangorodok-bound.
Despite the availability of the newer KTM-19 model, in 01.2005 Angarsk acquired this new tram of the previous older model. This vehicle, however, has internal layout borrowed from KTM-19. It is also equipped with the... television set in the saloon. This is the first new tram bought by the city since 2000.

2-12. Moskovskaya Ul. & Kirova Ul.
KTM-8 T-110. Line 5, Z-d Polimerov-bound.
The city looks less presentable a few blocks away from the central area. The tramway line evolves through various traffic engineering techniques, from the segregated right-of-way in the median on Karla Marksa Pr., to the mixed traffic section on Gorkogo Ul., to the side-of-the road reservation on Moskovskaya Ul.

2-13. Moskovskaya Ul. & Kirova Ul.
RVZ-6M2 T-104. Line 1, TETs-9-bound.
To top it all, on Kirova Ul. tracks are laid in mixed traffic, each direction separately from one another, on two sides of the boulevard.
(23.08.2000, Aare Olander)
2-14. Kirova Ul. near Moskovskaya Ul.
RVZ-6M2 T-043. Line 5, 205-y Kvartal-bound.
This car used to be a part of a 2-car train in the 'better' days (see same page above).
(17.09.2004,YM)
2-15. Kirova Ul. near Karla Marksa Pr.
RVZ-6M 068. Line 6, Sangorodok-bound.
This is a car of RVZ-6M type, as opposed to RVZ-6M2 cars mostly seen on these pages. It was delivered in 1974 and operated until 1990. The car is completed with all appropriate Soviet-era symbols. The letter 'T' prior to car numbers did not appear as of yet.

2-16. Kirova Ul. near Karla Marksa Pr.
KTM-5M3 T-113. Depot-bound.
